The festival usually organises competitions for feature films, documentaries and short films, and in 2017 focused on New Romanian Cinema and Baltic films.
Ten projects, including ones from Croatia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Macedonia and the Czech Republic, participated at Eastweek, an international scriptwriting workshop.
When East Meets West (22-24 January 2017) had an East & West double focus, bringing together over 350 film professionals from all over Europe and, in particular, from the 2017 spotlight territories: France and the Baltic countries.
The winners of the main competition were chosen, as usually, by the audience.
