IPTV Revenues to Triple

    Revenues for IPTV operators in CEE are predicted to triple by 2017, according to a report from analysists Frost & Sullivan. Revenue, which amounted to 90 million euros in 2010, will climb to 270 million euros in 2017.

    Rapid TV News reports that changes in IPTV consumption in the region are leading to stable market growth. That could draw cable operators into a field dominated by telecom companies. Cable operators in Poland are already providing VOD, while Hungarian giant Magyar Telekom is providing IPTV via the cable TV network.

    Across the region, the Czech Republic is the leading market. Bulgaria and Romania trail as the least developed markets. The Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania are expected the be the most important markets in the region.
