VIMN is also increasing its distribution of Paramount Channel in Hungary due to a new deal cut with RCS&RDS, says Digital TV Europe. Paramount Channel was launched in 2012 in Spain and one year later is spread to France. It was launched in Russia this year.
In Hungary Paramount Channel has been broadcast since February 2014 and it is now available on satellite platforms including Magyar Telekom, Tarr, PR-Telecom, Invitel and RCS&RDS.
The films channels available in Romania are growing in number. Shorts TV HD was launched in Romania in the UPC portfolio on 30 April 2014. It will be broadcast in High Definition and in Video-on-Demand (VOD), nurturing good relationships with the local film festivals.
Its first collaboration was with NexT IFF by launching the contest The Pitch, aiming to help funding and broadcasting Romanian short films. Shorts TV was launched in 2008 in Europe by Shorts International and Chellomedia.
