Written by Iacob together with Lia Bugnar and Dan Chiriac, A Gift for You (working title) is a touching story about love and its power to conquer the adversities. It is inspired by true events and it stars, as the director puts it, "young and successful actors in unusual parts for the audience" : Dragoş Bucur, Raluca Aprodu, Mimi Brănescu, Mirela Oprişor, Patricia Poslusnic, and Vlad Zamfirescu. Viorel Sergovici (Aurora) is the DoP.
The film it's produced by Zazu Film in coproduction with MediaPro Entertainment, the same team behind #Selfie but with a smaller budget of 600,000 EUR. There were 23 days of shooting during February-March 2013. Zazu Film will also distribute the film in Romania.
#Selfie sold more than 87,000 tickets since its release on 9 May 2014. Iacob will shoot a sequel to it this autumn. After studying film directing in Bucharest and London, she aims to make commercially successful films in Romania. She is also the president of the newly founded Romanian Screenwriters Association (ASCER).
