The Council of Representatives of the Alliance approved on 13 December 2014 the decision taken by the Permanent Council of the Alliance in 27 November 2014 to leave the government.
Csilla Hegedus had been appointed minister of Culture no earlier than on 18 November 2014. She was the fourth minister of Culture Romania had in 2014, after Gigel Ştirbu and Hunor Kelemen. Prime Minister Victor Ponta was also acting minister of Culture from summer through November 2014, after the resignation of Hunor Kelemen.
In December 2013, the Minister of Culture was in the portfolio of the National Liberal Party (PNL), but two months later, during a government crisis, the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania entered the government and received the portfolio of the Minister of Culture together with the portfolio of the vice-prime-minister.
