The competition sections are: International, Central and Eastern Europe, Romania, Short film and Student. Another 45 films will screen out of competition within the thematic programmes of the festival, in the experiential setup (virtual reality and 360 degrees projections), as well as in the 10th Astra Film Junior (a festival-in-festival dedicated to the training of the next generation of moviegoers and documentary filmmakers).
Over 3,000 films have been submitted.
Astra Film Festival Sibiu is held under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.
