“We see great potential in the Romanian market and, based on a clear strategy, we decided to open high quality cinemas in several new commercial centers. Moreover, we are currently prospecting a refurbishment process, which could be added to our portfolio in the future”, Christof Papousek, managing partner Cineplexx, said in a statement.
The first two cinemas will open in București and Satu Mare in the first quarter of 2019, according to a press release. Another two cinemas will open until the end of 2019. The eight cinemas will have more than 50 screens.
Cineplexx, which is controlled by the distribution company Constantin Films, is currently running cinemas in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece and Italy.
