Cinema City Expands in Romania

    Cinema City (www.cinemacity.ro) will open a new multiplex in Baia-Mare on 5 November 2010, its ninth investment in Romania to date. The multiplex will have 1,100 seats and six screens, including three digital screens.

    The multiplex is located in the commercial center Gold Plaza and is the first multiplex in this town with 140,000 inhabitants and also the first in the region of Maramureş.

    Cinema City operates 88 screens in Romania with over 14,600 seats. It is the leader on the local market regarding the number of multiplexes and the number of the screens, followed by Hollywood Multiplex (www.hmultiplex.ro).

    Cinema City plans to open another two multiplexes in Brăila and Târgu Mureş at the begining of 2011. The last multiplex was opened in Arad, in September 2010.
