PRODUCTION: Slovak Omnibus Twenty to Wrap in Fall

BRATISLAVA: Mátyás Prikler, director of the social drama Fine, Thanks, screened at the Rotterdam IFF this year, is prepping to produce the final segments of the episodic Twenty, a look at changes since the founding of an independent Slovakia in 1993. The project's original title, Slovakia 2.0, was dropped in the course of developing ten stories, each by a respected director, to chronicle the country's transitions.

The stories, often written by the directors, provide a thoughtful cross-section of Slovak filmmaking, Prikler told FNE, because this approach "will show a special kaleidoscope of very different interpretations of today's life in Slovakia.“

Two segments were shot over the summer in Bratislava, Zvolen, Sliač and Banská Štiavnica and one animated segment is currently in production. Two further episodes are planned for autumn.

Prikler calls the project "very unusual and challenging in terms of time and money," adding he is in talks with . Now we are finishing the discussions with broadcaster RTVS, expected to come on board as co-producer.
