The famous Slovak actor Juraj Kukura received the Actor’s Mission Award. For the first time in its history, the festival welcomed an animated feature in its International Competition, Jan Balej’s Little from the Fish Shop, a coproduction between Czech Republic, Slovakia, France and Germany. The film received a Special Mention.
In 2015 Art Film Fest moved back to the spa town of Trenčianske Teplice after being held in Trenčin in 2014. With screenings both in Trenčianske Teplice and Trenčin, the festival screened 125 films from 50 countries, which included 13 films in the European Corner section and six in Slovakia's first American indie showcase.
Besides the film screenings, the festival gathered the Slovak industry and organized debates such as the launch of the discussion about the strategy of the second five-year audiovisual programme 2016-2020, the first part of the workshop MIDPOINT dedicated starting this year to film professionals, and also a round table on the missing genres in the Slovak cinema.
