The script, which was written by Patrik Pašš jr. and received the Tibor Vichta award in 2006, follows Riki and his mother who move into an apartment in a new block of flats. During the first night Riki sees black creatures, the Raven Men, who take a crystal from his mother’s bed. Riki follows them into Yourland, the world of fantasy.

The development of the film had received 46,600 EUR in support from theSlovak Audiovisual Fund since 2011 and 6,000 EUR the Bratislava Self-Governing Region before receiving the grant from Creative Europe.

“Creative Europe experts were selecting from 356 film projects. Heart of a Tower was one of 56 supported films, which is a huge success,” Eva Pavlovičová from production company BFILM told FNE. The producers are planning to finish the development phase soon. The estimated budget of the film is 2.7m EUR.

Producer Barbara Roháčová from the production company Plutoon talked to FNE about her interest in international forums and markets: "The production of the first Slovak feature animation film requires great financial costs as well as a big team. That´s why we were looking for international partners, coproducers and sales agents from the very beginning, and we are also looking for new contacts."

The project has already been presented at Animafest Zagreb in 2013, Cartoon 360 in 2014, and Anifilm, Fantoche and PAF in 2015.
