The story is based on the events surrounding the kidnapping of the son of the former Slovak president Michal Kováč and focuses on a criminal case in which the state and its security forces played an important role. Peter, a police officer, is authorised to investigate the violent death of a gang member. In the course of his investigation he uncovers connections between high-ranking state officials and secret service employees with members of the Mafia. Marta, an investigative journalist, affected by the execution of her brother, is involved in tracing the killer and gets caught up in a high-stakes game.
„We shot a strong political thriller, for which we were inspired by real events that happened in the Slovak society and political power of the 90s,“ says Čengel Solčanská. She is also the scriptwriter.
JMB Film & TV Production is producing in coproduction with PROMEA RTVS, Magic Seven, Štúdio 727 and the Slovak Audiovisual Fund. The Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic is supporting. The budget is 1.2 m EUR.
The cast includes well-known Slovak film and theater actors such as Rebeka Poláková, Maroš Kramár, Milan Mikulčík, Ingrid Timková, Daniel Heriban and Milan Ondrík.
Mariana Čengel Solčanská previously made Love in Your Soul, The Legend of Flying Cyprian and Love Me or Leave Me, all of them produced by JMB Film & TV Production.
