Based on a strong film tradition, the city of Trenčianske Teplice hosted the first edition of Park Film Fest, which this year focused on female directors and student filmmakers. The jury of the female competitive category „Her Sight“ was impressed by Grófová’s much awarded Berlinale film Little Harbour, based on the award-winning contemporary novel by Monika Kompaníková. The winner of the student section was the Hungarian short film Beautiful Figure by Hajni Kis.
Czech director and producer Ondřej Trojan and Slovak documentary filmmaker Zuzana Piussi received „Behind the Camera“ awards. One of the main event of the festival was a masterclass led by Krzysztof Zanussi, who received an award from the Mayor of Trenčianske Teplice.
„These three awarded film professionals represent the base on which we would like to build Park Film Fest – as a tool of fun, ethics and change. Together with students, we would like to look bright into the future. That is why we are so glad that one of the awarded personalities is also a pedagogue,“ said Eva Križková, co-organiser of the festival.
Among other awarded personalities were the Slovak actress Táňa Pauhofová and actor/singer Miroslav Žbirka, who received the Artist’s Mission awards.
