Tereza Nvota’s documentary film Meciar, about the populist former Slovak Prime Minister Vladimir Meciar, was in 17th place after four weeks in distribution, with just under 14,000 admissions. The Slovak/Czech coproduction was produced by PubRes, Negativ and HBO Europe and distributed by PubRes.

After a record breaking opening earlier this year that saw Peter Bebjak’s Slovak/Ukrainian crime thriller The Line / Ciara hit the number one spot at the Slovak box office, the film is still in the top 20 topping 325,000 admissions after 14 weeks in release and rising slightly to 13th place in the box office. The film was released by Continental Film and was produced by Slovakia‘s Wandal Production in coproduction with Ukraine‘s Garnet International Media Group, RTVS, HomeMedia Production and Martin Kohút. The budget of 1.3 m EUR was partially covered by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, Creative Europe, the Ukrainian State Film Agency, the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and Bratislava Self-Governing Region.
