This year’s feature film competition jury boasts top filmmakers from five countries, Slovakia, Ukraine, Poland, Russia and Germany, who will decide the winners of the festival’s Blue Angel awards, which will be given out on 23 June. They are Slovak producer Lívia Filusová, Ukrainian actress Marianna Kavka, Polish director Joanna Kos-Krauze, Russian actor and filmmaker Ivan Shvedoff and award winning German producer and Mogador Film helmer Christoph Thoke.
Speaking of the growing importance of Artfilmfest on the festival calendar, two times Cannes awarded Thoke said that there is beauty and relevance to come to a festival that is known for its powerful and inspiring selection of titles from the CEE region and beyond. “Serving on a jury is one of these exciting challenges and privileges that my profession involves. Just not to forget, it is the respect for the filmmakers and their works that drives and unites us. I am looking forward to a wonderful week in Kosice”
