Apart from the competition sections, the accompanying programme is rich in various events including anniversary programmes from the Slovak Film Institute (60th anniversary) and the Animation Studio at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (30th anniversary); a selection of films from the Polish animation studio Studio Filmów Rysunkowych; a Masterclass given by Polish animator Marta Pajek (who will also present her trilogy Impossible Figures and Other Stories); an exceptionally rich programme for children and their parents, as well as concerts, DJ sets and discussions.
The 2nd Student Forum, a unique platform for European animation schools, will take place in the New Synagogue on 27 June 2023.
Almost 1,400 films were submitted to the festival this year. The pre-selection committee selected a generous portion of 230 titles, of which 33 are in the main competition.
Fest Anča International Animation Festival 2023 is financially supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund and the LITA Fund. The Fest Anča Student Forum received a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants.
