The new president replaces Patrik Pašš, who had spent two years at the helm of the body, before stepping down in December over a conflict of interest issue. He denied the allegations, but "preferred to resign in an attempt to calm down the increasingly tense situation," as declared in an official statement. Pašš is a renowned editor as well as a producer, whose films were competing for AVF funding.
Gindl-Tatárová, who is the author of numerous screenplays and scripts for cinema, TV and radio, currently works as associate professor at the Academy of Performing Arts (www.vsmu.sk) in Bratislava, as well as at Tomáš Baťa University (web.utb.cz) in Zlín, Czech Republic. Since 2005, she has served as Slovakia's national representative at Eurimages.
