The film is based on a novel by the same name by one of the most famous Turkish novelists of the WWII years Sabahattin Ali. It tells the experiences in a single day of the nine-year-old child Hasan, living in a small village on the eastern Black Sea coast of Turkey. After Husan's father is imprisoned the family falls into poverty and Hasan tries to take care of his two siblings and his mother. Life for Hasan is hard but the film also brings a message of hope.
The film promises to bring Gunes beautiful visual sense to the film.
Selim Güneş (http:www.selimgunes.com) is one of Turkey's most well known photographers internationally and his photographs have been exhibited in Paris, Berlin and Washington as well as solo exhibitions in Istanbul.

The film shot for five weeks February and March of this year in the Turkish countryside using RED ONE camera system and shooting in 4K .
Executive producer Bora Tamusta said: "Turkish films have become increasingly successful at international festivals around the world in the past few years.
