The Conference of Ibero-American Cinematographic Authorities (CACI) and the association of the European Film Agency Directors (EFADs) have agreed to launch a jointly funded grant for the development of a project presented at the V Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum of the 64th San Sebastian Film Festival.
The aim of the EFADs-CACI Europe-Latin America Co-Production Grant is to build a structured partnership between Europe and Latin-America in the field of culture and between their respective film industries. Peter Dinges, President of the EFADs, explained that “both regions share a passion for culture and a common vision on cultural diversity and identity. The grant is designed to encourage more collaboration and to increase the number of genuine artistic co-productions between Latin America and Europe”.
EFADs and CACI decided that the first edition of this award will take place in the frame of the V Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum (San Sebastian, September 19, 20 and 21) because the Festival is one of the biggest film events in Europe and its Industry Club already fosters the development of film projects between Europe and Latin America.
This Grant will be awarded with a cash prize of €20,000 for the majority producer of the winning project. An international jury will choose the winner from the projects selected to participate in the Forum which were announced last Monday.
