BUCHAREST: The acclaimed Romanian actress Maria Popistașu and screenwriter Alexandru Baciu are in final postproduction with their debut feature as directors. Y is a Romanian/Greek coproduction supported by the Romanian Film Centre and the Greek Film Centre.

VALLETTA: Maltese director/DoP Keith Albert Tedesco is currently in postproduction with The Home Straight, a story about resilience and tenacity, financed by the Malta Film Commission - Creative Malta.

PODGORICA: Montenegrin director Đorđe Vojvodić is expected to wrap postproduction on his 100-minute documentary Nothing for You to Change / Ne pokušavaj mijenjat’ me by mid-July 2025. The film is a coproduction between Montenegro and Serbia, supported by both countries’ film centres.

TALLINN: Estonian filmmaker Ove Musting wrapped shooting Pig Slaughter / Seatapp on 2 March 2025. This black tragicomedy is his sophomore feature after his acclaimed debut, the sport drama Kalev (2022).

VILNIUS: Young Lithuanian director Rostislav Kirpičenko is in preparation with his debut feature Spring / Vesna, exploring the search for human dignity amidst the daily horrors of war. This joint production between Lithuania, Ukraine and France includes Jean Bréhat, producer for Bruno Dumont, among its coproducers.

PODGORICA: Acclaimed Montenegrin actor Milivoj Mišo Obradović is currently in the last lag of shooting with his debut feature 15 and a Half / 15 i po, which is produced by Giggling Goat Production and supported by the Film Centre of Montenegro.

LJUBLJANA: Italian director Matteo Oleotto has finished shooting The Last Slap / L'Ultimo schiaffo. This Christmas comedy drama is a coproduction between the Slovenian and the Italian national televisions.

VALLETTA: Maltese director/writer/DoP Keith Albert Tedesco is currently in postproduction with his feature film Ciao Ciao, a mix of dark comedy, romance and experimental drama.

RIGA: The acclaimed Latvian film director and screenwriter Laila Pakalniņa is in late postproduction with her Latvian/Lithuanian documentary Scarecrows / Putnubiedekli, which should be finished in June 2025.

RIGA: Latvian animator/artist/director Signe Baumane is currently in preparation with Karmik Knot, a Latvian/US/Italian coproduction starring Patrick Wilson, Polish-born American actress Dagmara Dominczyk and Matthew Modine.

BELGRADE: Serbian film director and producer Milan Todorović is currently in production with his third feature film. Described by its director as “a real teenage film that we haven't seen in years”, Haiduk in Belgrade is the first film adaptation of Gradimir Stojković’s evergreen bestseller book of the same title for children and the young.

NICOSIA: The South African/Cypriot director/writer/producer Stelana Kliris is currently in postproduction with Apart from Her. The film is a coproduction between Cyprus, the UK and Greece, supported by the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Cyprus Film Commission’s incentives scheme, among others.

TALLINN: Estonian filmmaker Janno Jürgens is currently in preparation with his feature No Me without You / Mind ei ole sinust eraldi, exploring the burden of guilt and the meaning of forgiveness. The film produced by Filmivabrik has been funded so far by the Estonian Film Fund.

BELGRADE: Kurak / Курак by Erke Dzhumakmatova and Emil Atageldiev is currently in postproduction as a joint project between Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Serbia, Luxembourg and Italy. Sadly, Emil Atageldiev died in August 2024, six months after the filming was completed.

SKOPJE: Macedonian writer/director Georgi M. Unkovski, whose debut feature DJ Ahmet world-premiered in Sundance’s World Cinema Dramatic Competition 2025 where it won the Audience Award, is currently in preparation with the animated series Bukvozhder.

VILNIUS: Lithuanian director/writer/producer Arūnas Matelis is currently in production with his new long documentary G.H.1 / G.V.1, which he calls “a very, very challenging film”.
