Sony Pictures Entertainment is in Malta filming Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks, through the end of May.

According to Malta's film commissioner (www.mfc.com.mt) Peter Busuttil, shooting will take place at the Mediterranean Film Studios (www.mfsstudios.com), at Malta ports, and on a tanker in the seas surrounding Malta.

TV2 MTM-SBS Television (tv2.hu) is coproducing. The project received 10,000 Euro (3 million Ft) from the Hungarian National Film Fund (www.filmalap.hu). The budget is 840,000 Euro (250 million Ft).
