LJUBLJANA: The shooting of Vinci Vogue Anžlovar's melodramatic black comedy Grandpa Goes South / Dedek gre na jug, produced by A Atalanta, has been postponed until July 2020. However, the film team remains optimistic that if there is no further delay due to the COVID-19 crisis, the film will be completed in the autumn of 2021.

PRODUCTION: Slovenian Drama Once Were Humans Completed
LJUBLJANA: Once Were Humans directed by Goran Vojnović and produced by Arsmedia, was successfully finished as planned in February 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the coproducers and the DoP were replaced during the process, but the drama about two men who get involved in human trafficking is scheduled for a domestic cinema release in the autumn of 2020.

PRODUCTION: Estonian Animated Feature Danger Island Continues Production
TALLINN: Some animation filmmakers are finding it relatively easy to continue with their work, although other productions have largely halted. The Estonian bundle content startup IMEPILT Studios is in production with the animated adventure comedy Danger Island, written by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek (Disney’s Mulan 2020) and John Bellina (iZOMBiE).

BRATISLAVA: Slovak documentary director Zuzana Piussi has finished the development on the social tragicomedy The Unbalanced / Zošalieť. The film is a Czech/Slovak coproduction between D1film production and the Slovak company Virus film. It was part of the Torino Film Lab Extended and the 2020 Czech Works in Progress online presentation
