Cyprus 13-04-2025NICOSIA: The 23rd edition of the Cyprus Film Days International Festival concluded on 12 April 2025 with the announcement of the winners. The French/ Italian/Georgian coproduction April by Déa Kulumbegashvili won Best Film in the Glocal Images International Competition, while Smaragda - I Got Thick Skin and I Can't Jump by Emilios Avraam won Best Film in the Cypriot Films Competition.
FNE at Cannes 2025: Films from FNE Partner Countries in Cannes’ 2025 Official Selection
Region 10-04-2025PARIS: Two Prosecutors by Sergei Loznitsa, Caravan by Zuzana Kirchnerová, and The Disappearance of Josef Mengele by Kirill Serebrennikov have been included in the Official Selection of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, which was announced on 10 April 2025. The festival will be held 13 – 24 May 2025.
NOVA GORICA: The CEE Animation Conference GO! 2025 took place from 11 to 14 March at Villa Vipolže in Nova Gorica in Slovenia and Kinemax Gorizia in Italy. The event brought together more than 50 independent animated film producers, public film fund representatives, creatives and other industry professionals for three days of discussions on Green Animation and the establishment of an International Co-development Support Mechanism.
BERLIN: Kontinental ’25 by Romanian Radu Jude received the Silver Bear for Best Script at the 75th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival, held 13 – 23 February 2025. The Golden Bear for Best Film went to the Norwegian film Dreams (Sex Love) by Dag Johan Haugerud.
TRIESTE: The Lithuanian film Toxic by Saulė Bliuvaitė received the Trieste Award for Best Feature Film at the 36th Trieste Film Festival, which was held 16 – 24 January 2025. The Romanian majority coproduction TATA by Lina Vdovîi and Radu Ciorniciuc won the Documentary Competition.
TRIESTE: The 15th edition of When East Meets West closed on 22 January 2025 with the awards ceremony after four rich days of pitching sessions, works in progress, inspirational labs, and talks.

Romania 21-01-2025BERLIN: Golden Bear winner, Romanian director Radu Jude returns in Berlinale’s 2025 Competition with his new feature film Kontinental '25, while two debut films, Urška Djukić’s Slovenian/Italian/Croatian/Serbian Little Trouble Girls and Growing Down by Hungarian director Bálint Dániel Sós, have been selected for the Perspektives competition.
