LJUBLJANA: The Croatian/Slovenian coproduction Safe Place / Sigurno mjesto by Juraj Lerotić won the Kingfisher Award for best film in the Perspektives Competition of the 33rd Ljubljana IFF (9 - 20 November 2022).

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian comedy At Hostar 2‰ by Luka Marčetič dominates the opening weekend box office in domestic cinemas with 28,689 admissions and 194,672 EUR gross. This is the best result for a film in its first weekend in 2022.

PORTOROŽ: Orchestra directed by Matevž Luzar won the Vesna Award for best film along with awards for script and cinematography at the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož (25 - 30 October 2022). Teona Mitevska’s The Happiest Man in the World won Best Slovenian Minority Coproduction and two other prizes for achievement in costume design and make-up.

PORTOROŽ: Dominik Mencej’s debut feature Riders / Jezdeca is screening in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož, taking place 25 - 30 October 2022. The film is a coproduction between Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Italy.

PORTOROŽ: Rahela Jagrič Pirc’s debut feature The Space Among Us / Vesolje med nami is screening in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož (25 - 30 October 2022). This Slovenian/Serbian coproduction is a coming-of-age drama set in the rural town of Kostanjevica na Krki.

PORTOROŽ: Slobodan Maksimović's Beanie / Kapa is screening in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož, which is taking place 25 - 30 October 2022. This coproduction between Slovenia, Luxembourg, Croatia and Slovakia is the first Slovenian Christmas film.

PORTOROŽ: Rožle Bregar’s documentary One for the River: The Sava Story / Ena za reko: Zgodba Save is running in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož, which is taking place 25 - 30 October 2022. This is Bregar’s second long documentary.

PORTOROŽ: Miha Vipotnik’s long animated documentary Wracked Piano / Pošvedrani klavir was selected for the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož (25-30 October 2022).

PORTOROŽ: Haidy Kancler’s long documentary Melted Dreams / Smučarske sanje will be screened in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož (25-30 October 2022). The film is a Slovenian/Austrian/Finnish coproduction.

PORTOROŽ: Miha Čelar’s long documentary Cannabis Sets You Free / Konoplja osvobaja will be screened in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož in Portorož (25 - 30 October 2022). This Slovenian/Croatian/Macedonian coproduction is Čelar’s fifth long documentary.
