PORTOROŽ: Robert Černelč’s debut feature The Birdbreeder / Ptičar will be screened in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož in Portorož (25-30 October 2022).

PORTOROŽ: Vinci Vogue Anžlovar's Slovenian/Macedonian Grandpa Goes South / Dedek gre na jug will screen in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož in Portorož (25 -30 October 2022). Well-known Slovenian actors Vlado Novak and Boris Cavazza are starring in this melodrama-black comedy.

PORTOROŽ: Sara Kern’s family drama Moja Vesna will be screened in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož (25 - 30 October 2022). This Slovenian/Australian coproduction is Kern’s first feature film.

LJUBLJANA: The well-known Slovenian director and screenwriter Tugo Štiglic died on 11 October 2022 at the age of 76.

LJUBLJANA: Seven Slovenian feature films and four long documentaries, together with five long documentaries dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Slovenia's independence and six Slovenian minority coproductions, will screen in the competition of the 25th Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož (25 - 30 October 2022).

LJUBLJANA: Sonja Prosenc started shooting her third feature film Redemption / Odrešitev in the town of Vodice, near Ljubljana, on 5 October 2022. This black comedy/drama is a Slovenian/Italian/Croatian/Serbian/Norwegian coproduction.

LJUBLJANA: The Netflix production The Union, directed by Julian Farino and starring Halle Berry, Mark Wahlberg and J.K. Simmons, is filming in the Slovenian coastal town of Piran. The Slovenian government gave cash rebate support of 2.5 m EUR for the project that will contribute to an estimated 30,000 overnight stays and the planned use of more than 10 m EUR for preparations and filming.

LJUBLJANA: Kolosej Ljubljana, the first and the largest Slovenian cineplex, which started operating in 2001, was sold at auction on 5 September 2022 for 6.4 m EUR. The new owner of the building with a total area of 10,000 square metres is the Slovenian businessman Ivo Boscarol.

LJUBLJANA: Igor Bezinović finished the two-year shooting of his long documentary Fiume o morte! in the first week of July 2022. The Croatian/Slovenian/Italian coproduction follows WWI events connected to the Italian poet Gabrielle D’Annunzio.
