TBILISI: The Film in Georgia 20-25% cash rebate programme was launched at the beginning of 2016. The programme, including a cash rebate offer, was recently renewed by the Government of Georgia, with a focus on the film industry promotion component, supporting the development of the local film industry and attracting foreign film production.

The Georgian National Film Center will present the Georgian stand at the Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film Online) for the fourteenth time from 6 to 17 July, where the team of the GNFC will work in the industrial direction. The GNFC will organise a variety of events, including meetings with film agents, educational organisations and representatives of film festivals like the Berlin, Locarno, San Sebastian and Trieste International Film Festivals.

TBILISI: The Georgian director Luka Berdadze has begun postproduction on the feature documentary Smiling Georgia, which he shot from October 2019 to November 2020 in Georgia. Additional scenes are scheduled to be shot in the summer of 2021. The film is a Georgian/German coproduction.
