Festivals: Romanian Irina wins Pecs prize

    The CinePecs V. Movast festival gave its main prize, the Golden Benjamin, to The Other Irina by Romanian filmmaker Andrei Gruzsniczki.

    The main prize came with a cash award of 10,000 Euros. The fifth edition of the young international festival (www.cinepecs.eu), which ran October 5-11, also awarded The Other Irina with a FIPRESCI award.

    Twelve films were selected for the main competition, which focuses on debut films from Central Europe.

    The Duna Television prize went to The Blacks from Croatian filmmakers Goran Dević and Zvonimir Jurić.

    Also awarded were Javor Gardev's stylish neo-noir Bulgarian film Dzift, Bosnian director Aida Begic's Snow, and Hungarian Film Week winner Lost Times by director Áron Mátyássy,
