Czech box office hit Domaci Pece directed by Slavek HorakPRAGUE: The Czech Union of Film Distributors announced that box office for the first half of 2015 reached a 15-year high, rising by 19 percent compared with the same period in 2014.
Ticket sales were 817m CZK, with an average ticket price of 126 CZK. Admissions rose 17 percent to 6.3m.
Czech films and animated children’s films helped fuel the growth, along with US box office hits. Six of the top 20 films were Czech productions.
The growth of admissions and box office continues a five year trend in the Czech Republic.
