Mindscapes of Fred Jüssi, a documentary about the legendary Estonian nature writer and photographer, directed by Jaan Tootsen and produced by Taska Film, received the largest production grant of 40,000 EUR.
Two documentaries received 30,000 EUR: Skype, a film about the Estonian IT industry’s greatest breakthrough, directed by Kiur Aarma and produced by Film Tower; and A Loss of Something Ever Felt, a sister’s quest to find her drug-addict brother in Colombia, directed by Carlos Eduardo Lesmes Lopez, produced by Alasti Kino.
EFI also gave a minority coproduction grant of 23,000 EUR to the animated film Man Wanted, directed by Irida Zhonga and produced on the Estonian side by the country’s largest and oldest puppet animation studio Nukufilm.
