The 800,000 EUR film is produced by Vladimer Katcharava of 20 Steps Production and Chkonia through her company Nike Studio. The production has 82,000 EUR in place through development funding from the Georgian National Film Center and in-kind services from Georgia’s Caucasian Film Service. The producer and director were seeking coproducers, world sales and distributors at Connecting Cottbus.

In Rusudan’s story, the residents of an apartment complex have been waiting seven years for the completion of construction. When an agreement is finally reached, one of the residents must be forced to give up his apartment. The other residents gang up on a young man trying to keep his gay life secret. After he is outed and the management agrees to provide housing for all the residents, the crisis is solved, but the community spirit of the residents is broken.

Rusudan is an awarded Georgian director who participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Residence du Festival de Cannes and whose debut film premiered at Venice.
