The awards, presented for the 29th time, also gave seven awards to the film, which is also Latvia’s candidate for an Oscar nomination. Kairišs received the Best Director award, Gints Berzins won Best DoP and Sabine Timoteo won the Best Actress award.
Chronicles of Melanie was domestically released in Latvia on 1 November 2016 and became the most popular film in 2016 with more than 75,000 admissions.
The most awarded production company at the ceremony was VFS Films with seven prizes.
