MALTA: The 13 part TV series Sinbad the Sailor produced by UK based Impossible Pictures for SKY TV will pump over 8 m euros into the Malta economy according to Malta Finance Minister Tonia Fenech.
Fenech was quoted by the Times of Malta on a tour of the set of the 21 m euro series which is shooting at Fort Ricasoli in Malta.
The Maltese government has been luring foreign productions to its shores with a 22 percent tax rebate. According to Fenech 13 foreign productions were shot in Malta last year. Most recently World War Z shot in Malta, a major production which boosted the economy of the island by about 30 M Euros employing local people during its location work in Malta.
