The participants of the SOFA Class of 2016 are: Inesa Ivanova (Lithuania), Terezie Krizkovska (Czech Republic), Tekla Machavariani (Georgia), Magdalena Puzmujzniak (Poland), Julia Sinkevych (Ukraine), Dumitru Marian (Moldavia), Lizaveta Bobrykava (Belarus) and Iris Elezi (Albania).
This year's motto is „Creativity has no nationality“ and the mentors of the eight participants are: Oliver Baumgarten (Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, Saarbrücken), Sibylle Kurz (pitching expert, Frankfurt), Ewa Puszczyńska (producer, Łódź) and Renaud Redien-Collot (Novancia Business School, Paris).
SOFA – School of Film Agents is a joint venture of Filmplus gUG (Cologne) and Fundacja Filmplus (Warsaw), together with the city of Wrocław and the Polish Film Institute. The project is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation, the Goethe-Institut Central and Eastern Europe, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, as well as Film Commission Poland and Wroclaw Film Commission, and also by EAVE – European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs.
