The 75-minute fantasy-adventure film aimed at a pre-teen audiences will be a low-budget production (under 200,000 EUR). The main characters are Sol, and 11-year-old boy impatient to grow up, and Liv, a girl who guides him into the world of spells and magic. A part of Sol’s ascent into the world of grown-ups involves the ritual cutting of his long blonde hair. When his parents delay the ritual, Sol rebels, and in doing so changes his destiny and has to overcome danger and his own weaknesses.
Experts at the Warsaw Kids Film Forum praised the visuals of the 2-D animation in the film’s trailer. The film is in the first draft of the script.
The story is inspired by Slavic and Scandinavian myths, and the producers are looking for coproduction partners from Slavic and Nordic territories. They are also seeking funders, distributors and sales agents.
