The USA accounts for seven of the 13 films in competition. Poland’s two most famous directors, Agnieszka Holland and Roman Polanski, also get competition slots, working with Polish DoP’s Tomasz Naumiuk and Pawel Edelman.
The only other CEE entry is the Czech/Slovak/Ukrainian coproduction The Painted Bird directed by Vaclav Marhoul working with DoP Vladimir Smutny.
