A total of 22 projects from 29 countries were pitched, 12 of them fiction feature films and 10 documentaries. Two new initiatives dedicated to films in the postproduction stage were launched at the 5th edition of WEMW, Last Stop Trieste (LST), a work-in-progress section for creative documentaries organized in collaboration with Trieste Film Festival, and First Cut Lab (FCL), a programme designed for long feature fiction films in the editing phase.
This year When East Meets West dedicated a special focus to English speaking countries: the UK, Ireland, Canada and the USA. Spain, Portugal and Latin America will be guest regions in 2016.
