Of the 12 films,10 are from debuting directors and two are from directors making the second feature film. The films come from Poland, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, Sweden, SUA, Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, India, and Japan.
Slovakia is represented by Made in Ash/ Až do mesta Aš by Iveta Grófová, a documentary-style debut film and Slovakia's Oscar entry that has had a strong festival career. Poland sends Tomasz Wasilewski’s In a Bedroom/ W Sypialni, a psychological drama about a 40 year old prostitute, which screened in 2012 at Karlovy Vary.
The jury members are Romanian director Cristi Puiu, t Hungarian filmmaker György Pálfi (Taxidermia, 2006), actress Franziska Petri, Tribeca fest director Frederic Boyer, and British producer Lynda Myles.
