This year, more than 30 features are programmed in over 100 screenings in three venues. Emmanuelle Bercot, the director of Standing Tall/La tête haute, is the first guest announced this year.
The festival will also showcase an international debate about piracy and film journalism. A contest for young film critics organized together with Asociatia Cultural Control N will help the winner to get directly to Cannes 2016.
Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest came into being in 2010 on the initiative of director Cristian Mungiu, with the support of Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival. Their idea generated a trend, the festival spreading as far as Buenos Aires in 2014, under the name of Semana de Cine del Festival de Cannes.
Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest is organized by Cinemascop Association and Voodoo Films.
