The eight titles do not have Romanian distribution yet, so the 2,500 EUR award consisting of financial support and a promotional package will be given by Asociația Cinemascop (one of the organisers of the festival) to a Romanian distributor, who will decide to distribute one of them. The winner will be voted by the audience.
Another distribution award in the amount of 5,000 EUR will be given to the domestic distributor who already acquired one of the eight Romanian films which will be screened at the festival ahead of their theatrical release this autumn.
The 9th Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest is organised by Asociația Cinemascop and Voodoo Films in partnership with the French Embassy and l’Institut Français in Bucharest.
Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest is a cultural project supported by the Romanian Film Centre and also by the SACD / Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques, the European Comission Representation Office in Romania and DACIN SARA.
