LJUBLJANA: Two years after a popular and intriguing teaser posted on YouTube, student Oscar nominee Žiga Virc is shooting his awaited docu-fiction Houston, We Have a Problem, based on the urban myth of Yugoslavia selling its secret space programme to the US in March 1961 followed two months later by president Kennedy announcing that the USA would go to the moon.

BUCHAREST: Radu Muntean is set for an August- September 2014 shooting on One Floor Below, a Romanian-French-Swedish coproduction.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak documentary filmmaker Miro Remo is finishing work on Vrbovský veter, his second documentary after his award-winning short student documentary Arsy-Versy

WARSAW: Jacek Bromski will start shooting the thriller Anatomy of Evil on 24 June 2014 in Warsaw and Szczecin.

BUCHAREST: Radu Jude's 1.4 m EUR film Aferim! has received 180,000 EUR from Film und Medienstiftung in advance of its mid-June 2014 production start.

BUCHAREST: Using the same mix of animation techniques from Crulic - The Path to Beyond, Anca Damian heads with the second part of her trilogy on heroism into the life of Adam Jacek Winkler (1937-2002), a 20th century Polish Don Quixote.

BUCHAREST: The production company founded by Corneliu Porumboiu and Marcela Ursu is developing the first feature written and directed by Bogdan Mirică, a drama/thriller set in rural Romania with shooting planned for late summer 2014.
