ZAGREB: The European Film Commission Network (EUFCN) has nominated the Croatian town of Stari Grad among the five finalists for the 5th edition of the Best Filming Location competition.

ZAGREB: Following the two successful Spring Editions of the joint online programmes, the Zagreb Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, Belgrade Festival of Auteur Film, Herceg Novi Film Festival and Ljubljana Film Festival, united in the Network of Festivals in Adriatic Region, have announced their first Winter Edition.

OSIJEK: Croatian director Dalibor Matanić started filming the second season of his acclaimed TV series The Silence / Šutnja, which is produced by Croatia’s Drugi Plan and the Croatian Radiotelevision in coproduction with Germany’s Beta Film, Ukraine’s Star Media and OLL.TV, as well as ZDF/ARTE.

ZAGREB: Croatian point-and-click adventure Saint Kotar was updated and released for the Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms on 22 November 2022. Saint Kotar was among the first games whose production was supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, with 13,250 EUR / 100,000 HRK in 2021.

ZAGREB: War drama The Sixth Bus / Šesti autobus directed by Eduard Galić, produced by MissArt and distributed by Duplicato Media, had 18,141 admissions in its first weekend in Croatia, making it the best domestic opening in 2022. This is also the fourth best opening of a Croatian film of all-time.

ZAGREB: Producer Daniel Pek was chosen from among seven candidates as the new artistic director of the Pula Film Festival, Croatia’s biggest festival dedicated to national production and coproduction.

ZAGREB: Croatian cinema Kinoteka, run by the August Cesarac Centre for Culture and Film with support from the City of Zagreb and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, has become the 17th Croatian cinema to join the Europa Cinemas network.

ZAGREB: Croatian screenwriter/director Silvio Mirošničenko is currently filming Grandpa Guru, a long documentary produced by Croatia’s Točka kulture and coproduced by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Produkcija Scena.

ZAGREB: Pakistani feature film Joyland directed by Saim Sadiq won the Golden Pram Award at the 20th Zagreb Film Festival, held 23 - 30 October 2022. Croatian debut feature Safe Place / Sigurno mjesto by Juraj Lerotić received a Special Mention in the main competition dedicated to first and sophomore features.
