BELGRADE: Film Center Serbia distributed 367,000 EUR / 45,000,000 RSD in the second part of its first round of grants for 2017, announced on 26 May 2017. The grants are co-financing grants for the production of long documentaries, short documentaries and short fiction films.
BELGRADE: Jovana Nikolić is this year’s Serbian representative in the European Film Promotion’s Producers on the Move initiative. Nikolić works as a producer at her own production company Prababa, which she launched in 2007 in order to specialise in creative documentary filmmaking.
BELGRADE: Untitled, the final, posthumously completed documentary by Michael Glawogger and Monika Willi, received the Award for Best Documentary in the International Competition. Gora by Stefan Malešević was awarded Best Film in the National Competition programme. The festival took place from 8 to 15 May 2017.

BELGRADE: The 10th jubilee edition of the Beldocs Film Festival will screen 87 documentaries in eleven thematic categories from 8 to 15 May 2017. The novelty in this year’s edition is the Beldocs Market held 8-12 May, supported for the first time by Creative Europe, thus making Beldocs the only documentary film festival with a film market in the region.
VILNIUS: The Serbian film The Horizons / Horizonti, Svetislav Dragomirović’s debut feature, is expected to complete postproduction in July 2017. The film was presented at the “Coming Soon New Talents” pitching session at Meeting Point Vilnius, the industry event of the 22nd edition of the Vilnius Film Festival – Kino Pavasaris.
VILNIUS: Legendary Latvian helmer Ivars Seleckis is close to completing production on the documentary To Be Continued / Turpinajums. The project was presented at the “Coming Soon from Baltics” pitching session held during Vilnius Meeting Point, the industry segment of the 22nd edition of the Vilnius Film Festival – Kino Pavasaris.
FESTIVALS: Quit Staring at My Plate Wins the 45th Belgrade International Film Festival – FEST
Serbia 06-03-2017BELGRADE: Quit Staring at My Plate by Hana Jušić was awarded the Belgrade Victor for Best Film at the 45th Belgrade International Film Festival – FEST, while Requiem for Mrs. J by Bojan Vuletić was awarded Best Film in the National Competition programme (Serbian Film). The festival took place from 24 February to 5 March 2017.
BELGRADE: Wind will screen in the National Competition programme (Serbian Film) of the 45th edition of the Belgrade International Film Festival – FEST, unspooling from 24 February to 5 March 2017. This is the third feature film by Serbian director Tamara Drakulić.
