BELGRADE: Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Film and Audiovisual Activities in the Western Balkans. The memorandum was signed in the scope of the Open Balkan initiative in Belgrade on 2 September 2022.

BELGRADE: The Serbian feature film Christina / Kristina by Nikola Spasić has been acquired by the UK-based Reason8 company. The deal covers all the rights around the globe (cinemas, TV, festivals, VOD), except ex-Yugoslavia. Christina won best first film at the 35th FIDMarseille (5 – 11 July 2022), where it had its world premiere.

Serbia 22-08-2022BELGRADE: The Serbian political drama series Sabre / Sablja, created and directed by Goran Stanković and Vladimir Tagić, is the first ever international coproduction to benefit from new TV drama fund launched by the Bulgarian National Film Center.
BELGRADE: The Serbian production company Firefly has sold two of its recent series, Black Wedding / Crna svadba and The Family / Porodica to the Australian public broadcasting station SBS. Firefly had 19 nominations for the second edition of the TV Series Awards at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival, where Black Wedding received the award for best supporting actor in a drama series (Slavko Štimac).
BELGRADE: Serbian director Stevan Filipović is currently shooting his fourth feature film. Next to Us / Pored nas is a sequel to his high school hit Next to Me / Pored mene ( Hypnopolis), which was awarded the International Programme Jury’s Folden Arena at the Pula Film Festival in 2015.
BELGRADE: Veteran Serbian and Yugoslav filmmaker Mladomir Puriša Đorđević is shooting at 98 years a new feature film. Mouth Full of Earth / Usta puna zemlje is based on the acclaimed bestselling novel from 1974 by Branimir Šćepanović and is expected to premiere by or around the end of 2022.
