BELGRADE: Siniša Cvetić’s sophomore feature Lilacs / Jorgovani has reigned over the Serbian box office charts since the beginning of its cinema distribution on 27 February 2024.

BELGRADE: Dejan Vlaisavljević Nikt’s thriller Los Alamos had both its national and international premiere in the FEST 52 section of the 52nd edition of FEST (23 February - 3 March 2024). The film is an independent production.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Miroslav Lekić’s seventh feature Russian Consul / Ruski konzul closed the 52nd FEST (23 February - 3 March 2024) in Belgrade. This was the last film for leading actor Žarko Laušević, who died in November 2023.

BELGRADE: The 52nd edition of FEST ended in the Serbian capital on the evening of 3 March 2024 with Russian/French/Swiss The Owner directed by Yuriy Bikov winning the Belgrade Victor Award for Best Film. Several accolades went to Serbian coproductions.

BELGRADE: Marko Đorđević’s That’s It For Today / Za danas toliko won Best Actress (Ivana Vuković) and the Politika Award for Best Serbian Film at the 52nd FEST. Đorđević’s sophomore feature was one of the most anticipated films of the festival held in Belgrade 23 February - 3 March 2024.

BELGRADE: Young Serbian director Luka Bursać presented his third feature film within the Gala segment of the 52nd edition of FEST (23 February – 3 March 2024) in Belgrade. His fantasy film Videotheque / Videoteka is a solely Serbian coproduction.

BELGRADE: The first domestic film screened at the 52nd edition of Belgrade’s FEST (23 February - 3 March 2024) was Mladen Đorđević’s Working Class Goes To Hell / Radnička klasa ide u pakao. This coproduction of Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia and Romania had its Serbian premiere in the festival's Main Competition programme.

BELGRADE: A total of 108 films from almost 40 countries will be screened in six venues at the 52nd edition of Belgrade’s FEST, running from 23 February up to 3 March 2024.

BELGRADE: Domestic cinema kept its most prominent position in the Serbian box office charts in 2023 with four feature films making it to the annual box office list of the year. Dragan Bjelogrlić’s Guardians of the Formula had the best box office of the year but less admissions than Barbie.

BELGRADE: The American thriller Misdirection by Kevin Lewis, starring Olga Kurylenko, Oliver Trevena and Frank Grillo, has entered the postproduction stage. A great part of the film has been shot in Serbia. The Belgrade-based Red Production has serviced the production locally. The producers intend to apply to Serbia’s tax incentive scheme.
