LJUBLJANA: Slovenian video artist and film director Ema Kugler started shooting her fifth feature film, Man with the Shadow.

ZAGREB: The 3rd part of the Danish comedy Three Heists and a Hamster / Alle for Tre by Rasmus Heide began shooting in various locations in Istria on 11 April 2016.

SARAJEVO: The third feature film by Kristijan Milić, Dead Fish Float on Their Backs, started shooting in Mostar on 3 April 2016. This is the second time Milić decided to base his film on Mlakić's work. In 2007 Miro Barnjak adapted Mlakić's novel for Milić's first feature film Living and the Dead produced by Porta.

PRAGUE: German TV film State Justice/Landgericht by Matthias Glasner wraps shooting in the Czech Republic on 12 April 2016. The film is a coproduction between the German UFA Fiction and Mia Film from the Czech Republic and it is made for the German channel ZDF

PRAGUE: The UK/Czech historical drama Interlude in Prague started filming in the Czech Republic this week. The story is based on Mozart’s visit to Prague in 1787 and focuses on the composing of his opera Don Giovanni.

SOFIA: Director/producer Stanislav Donchev is developing his third feature film Letters from Antarctica, a drama following the painful efforts of a single mother to hide from her little boy how his father died.

LJUBLJANA: Vlado Škafar’s fourth feature film Mother, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival 2016, will have its first screening in Slovenia on 12 April 2016.

WARSAW: Bodo Kox will start shooting the sci fi drama The Man with the Magic Box in the second half of 2016. The film is a Polish/English/Italian coproduction.

SOFIA: Established director Nikolay Volev is in postproduction with Off-Road, a new feature film after a break of nearly fifteen years. The release is planned for 2017.

BUCHAREST: Emanuel Pârvu is currently shooting his debut feature, The Not So Happy Side of Things / Partea nu prea fericită a lucrurilor (working title), an independent Romanian coproduction.

BRATISLAVA: Slovakia’s LECA Production and the acclaimed Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky are preparing Human Face (working title), a feature film inspired by the life of the Slovak politician and leader of Prague Spring Alexander Dubček. Shooting is planned for May 2017.

BUCHAREST: The Harley and the Davidsons six hours miniseries is currently shooting entirely for Discovery in Romania. Castel Film is providing services.

PRAGUE/BRATISLAVA: Juraj Jakubisko is planning a sequel to his popular Christmas fairy tale The Feather Fairy / Perinbaba (1985), which he will produce through his company Jakubisko Film.

BUCHAREST: Serge Ioan Celebidachi is currently shooting his debut feature Octav, with Blasco Giurato (Dr. Zhivago) as DoP. The Romanian/British coproduction starring Marcel Iureș (Hart’s War, Youth without Youth) started shooting on 21 March 2016.

RIGA: Director Jānis Nords is currently shooting Foam at the Mouth / Ar putām uz Lūpām, a psychological drama in a contemporary setting. The premiere of this Latvian/Lithuanian/Polish coproduction is set for 2017.

PRAGUE: TV film The Glassmaker/Die Glasbläserin by Christine Balthasar, a German/Czech coproduction made for ZDF, is currently shooting in Czech Republic.
