EUFCN Welcomes Slovak Zuzana Bieliková and Croatian Tanja Ladović Blažević Among Its Board Members
Region 09-12-2022BRATISLAVA: Zuzana Bieliková, the head of the Slovak Film Commission, and Tanja Ladović Blažević, the head of Filming In Croatia, have been elected to the European Film Commission’s (EUFCN) Board.
BRATISLAVA: Theatre, film and the first Slovak television actress Mária Kráľovičová died on 5 December 2022 at the age of 95.
BRATISLAVA: The Slovak/Czech/German coproduction Victim / Obet’ by Michal Blaško, was sold by Pluto Film to Spain´s Inopia Films.
BRATISLAVA: The 16th edition of the Slovak Queer Film Festival is screening 51 films (27 feature and 24 short films) from 31 countries in Bratislava until 29 November 2022.
BRATISLAVA: Peter Kerekes was awarded the main prize for directing 107 Mothers / Cenzorka at the ceremony of the 33rd edition of the IGRIC Awards. These are the oldest film prizes in Slovakia and one of the two important national film awards in the country, alongside the Sun in a Net Awards.
PIEŠŤANY: The satirical comedy Triangle of Sadness directed by Ruben Östlund received the Meeting Point Europe Award in the main competition of the 17th IFF Cinematik Piešťany, which took place in the spa city of Piešťany from 13 to 18 September 2022. The Cinematik.doc award went to Countdown - The Last Film of Ivan Palúch / Odpočítavanie - Posledný film Ivana Palúcha directed by Martin Palúch.
BRATISLAVA: The first part of The Strangers, the new trilogy directed by Renny Harlin and produced by Lionsgate, has started production in Slovakia. Rastislav Kuril´s Frame film SK s.r.o. is servicing the production in Slovakia. The producers registered for the 33% cash rebate at the Slovak Audiovisual Fund in June 2022.
BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Viera Čákanyová is finishing postproduction on her documentary essay Notes from Eremocene / Poznámky z Eremocénu. The film is a Slovak/Czech coproduction.
PIEŠŤANY: Nine feature films have been selected under the auspices of FIPRESCI for Meeting Point Europe, the main competition of the 17th IFF Cinematik Piešťany. The festival will take place in the spa city of Piešťany from 13 to 18 September 2022.
BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Tomáš Krupa has started production on his creative documentary We Have to Survive / Musíme prežiť. The Slovak/French/Austrian coproduction captures stories about climatic change impacts from four different corners of the world, while keeping the lowest possible Carbon footprint.
