WARSAW: Janusz Majewski is in development with an adaptation of his novel Black Mercedes. This crime story is set for shooting in 2018.
WARSAW: Władysław Pasikowski is in the last stages of development with a war biopic about Jan Nowak-Jeziorański (1914-2005), who was one of the most notable resistance fighters of the Home Army and served as a courier during WWII.
WARSAW: Michał Rosa is developing the first feature film about the Polish political leader Józef Piłsudski. The film, starring Dawid Ogrodnik, is produced by Studio Filmowe KADR and will be released in 2019.

Poland 19-01-2018WARSAW: The first Polish Netflix series started shooting in Warsaw on 16 January 2018. The 8-episode series, which doesn’t have a title yet, is set in a world where the Iron Curtain never fell. The series will premiere on Netflix in 2018.
WARSAW: Polish cinema saw another record breaking year with an all-time best result of 56 m total admissions and two domestic titles topping the overall box office. Total gross was 254.6 m EUR.
WARSAW: Silver Bear winner Małgorzata Szumowska’s new drama Mug is currently in final postproduction and will have its international premiere in the Competition of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival (15-25 February 2018).
TORUŃ: The Camerimage International Film Festival will move from Bydgoszcz to Toruń by 2022, as a special Camerimage Festival Congress Center will be built to serve as a permanent location for the Camerimage IFF, as well as a stand-alone cultural institution funded by the Ministry of Culture.
WARSAW: Wild Roses by Anna Jadowska won the Golden Tapes award for best domestic film released in Polish cinemas in 2017. Golden Tapes are awarded by the Polish section of FIPRESCI and the members of the Polish Filmmakers Association.
WARSAW: Polish Animoon Studio and Chinese Animex Animation finalised the agreement on the coproduction of the second season of the Polish animated series Hug Me. This is the first animated coproduction between the two countries.
WARSAW: The romantic comedy Letters to Santa 3 directed by Tomasz Konecki is a major success not only in Poland, where it is topping the box office, but also abroad. The film is in UK's top ten and it was also released in over ten countries including the US, Germany, Sweden and Austria.
