SKOPJE: The Belgian documentary Eclipse directed by Nataša Urban won the Onion Award for best film in the main competition of the 13th edition of MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival. The festival was held in four locations in Skopje from 18 to 25 August 2022.

BITOLA: The 43rd edition of the International Cinematographers Film Festival Manaki Brothers will kick off in Bitola on 19 August 2022. A total of 62 films will be screened in several locations until 26 August 2022.

SKOPJE: American actor John Malkovich has announced his plans to build Stonebridge Studios, LEED-certified Hollywood calibre film, music and media studios, in Skopje's part of the Skopje Technology Park project.

SKOPJE: A total of 71 documentary films in four competition programmes will be screened at the 13th Festival for Creative Documentary Film MakeDox, which will be held in four locations in Skopje from 18 to 25 August 2022. The focus of this year's edition is on the development of ideas. Around 70 guests from abroad are expected to come to the festival.

SKOPJE: The revered Macedonian theatre and film actor Mitko S. Apostolovski died at age 67. He was a doyen of Macedonian acting and a longtime member of the National Theatre Bitola.

SKOPJE: The North Macedonia Film Agency distributed 1,680,480 EUR / 103,350,000 MKD as production grants for feature, short, animated films and documentaries in the first grant call of 2022. The Agency supported three majority feature films, 10 minority coproductions, six majority long documentaries and 13 short films.

OHRID: Slovenian Bitch, A Derogatory Term For A Woman  / Prasica, slabšalni izraz za žensko directed by Tijana Zinajić and Portuguese Infinite Sea directed by Carlos Amaral received the Large Wave Award in the Official Competition at the 5th edition of Beach Film Festival, which wrapped in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

SKOPJE: After 20 years since it was closed, the first Macedonian production company Vardar Film has put into use a renovated cinema, along with a new studio for colour grading and video editing, as part of its 75th anniversary celebration activities.

OHRID: A total of 38 films from 17 countries are in the selection of the 5th edition of the Beach Film Festival, running 20-24 July 2022 at four locations in Ohrid.

SKOPJE: The Slovak/Czech/Ukrainian coproduction 107 Mothers / Cenzorka directed by Peter Kerekes won the Golden Star in the Official Competition of the 21st Cinedays Festival of European Film, which took place 7-14 July 2022.
