Cinema do Brasil Backs Distribution of Brazilian Film in Czech Republic and Slovakia
Slovakia 31-07-2015BRATISLAVA: The Slovak film distribution company Filmtopia has received a Distribution Support Award of the Cinema do Brasil programme for the release of two Brazilian films in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
BRATISLAVA: Czech New Wave director Jan Němec is in preproduction with his autobiographical filmThe Wolf of Royal Vineyard Street.
BRATISLAVA: The Slovak Audiovisual Fund has issued the first certificate for film project registration for a cash rebate of 20% for the Weinstein Company’s TV series Marco Polo Season 2. The Slovak company applying for registration is local production service company Spectral.
TRENČIANSKE TEPLICE: Slovakia’s ARINA production company is in preparation with the family adventure film Journey of Blind Birds. The project which has no director attached yet and was presented at the scriptwriters workshop MIDPOINT during the 23th Art Film Fest (19-26 June 2015).
TRENCIANSKE TEPLICE: A new Slovak Strategy for Development of the Audiovisual Culture and Industry 2016-2020 is set to be sent to the Slovak government for approval by the end of 2015. It will focus on four main areas which were discussed at a first panel organised during Art Film Fest.
BRATISLAVA: Promising Slovak director Vladimír Mičúch, known as Aramisova has died on 19 June 2015. He was 42-years old.
BRATISLAVA: Following its presentation at the European Film Market and Marche du Film, Ivan Ostrochovský’s debut feature Koza has been sold to Germany and the ex-Yugoslavian territories.
BRATISLAVA: Zora Jaurová (Mphilms) will represent Slovakia at the Producers Workshop of Cannes this year together with her colleague Mátyás Prikler, with their project in development called MOC/Power directed by Prikler.
BRATISLAVA: Within the Cannes Producers Network 2015 Slovakia will be represented by producers Mátyás Prikler and Zora Jaurová of Mphilms and their project in development MOC/Power which will be directed by Prikler.
BRATISLAVA: This year Slovakia will be represented in Producers on the Move by producer Marek Urban. Urban began working in his father Marian Urban´s production company (ALEF Film & media group) when he was 18 years old, and studied documentary directing at Bratislava's Academy of Performing Arts. In 2004 he has established his own production company togather with fellow director and producer Ivan Ostrochovský, sentimental film.
