BELGRADE: Film Center Serbia announced the recipients of its newest round of grants on 13 May 2019. Grants were awarded in four feature film categories.

FNE spoke with 2019 Producer on the Move Mila Turajlić, who represents Serbia at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. She produced her own long documentary The Other Side of Everything / Druga strana svega, which went on to win the Best Feature-Length Documentary Award at IDFA 2017.

BELGRADE: The Russian/Serbian coproduction The Balkan Line / Balkanska međa by Andrey Volgin topped the Serbian box office in its opening weekend, with 39,960 admissions and 142,343 EUR  / 16,780,645 RSD gross. Captain Marvel in the second place got 4,751 admissions during the same period.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Milica Tomović started shooting her debut feature The Celts / Kelti in Belgrade on 8 March 2019. The film is supported by Film Center Serbia.

BELGRADE: Paul Dano’s Wildlife won the Belgrade Victor Award for Best Film in the international competition, while Goran Radovanović’s latest documentary The Makavejev Case or Trial in a Movie Theater was awarded best film in the national section of the 47th FEST, which officially closed on 3 March 2018.

BELGRADE: Goran Radovanović’s latest documentary The Makavejev Case or Trial in a Movie Theater had its world premiere in the Serbian film programme of FEST (22 February – 3 March 2019), the most popular film festival in Serbia. This is the only documentary in the Serbian film programme this year.

BELGRADE: Miroslav Terzić will screen his sophomore feature Stiches / Šavovi on 1 March 2019 in the Serbian film programme of FEST 2019 (22 February – 3 March 2019), the most popular film festival in Serbia. It will be the national premiere of this Serbian/Slovenian Croatian/Bosnian coproduction.

BELGRADE: Kosta Đorđević will screen his sophomore feature Cutting Close / Reži on 27 February 2019 in the Serbian film programme of FEST 2019 (22 February – 3 March 2019), the most popular film festival in Serbia. It will be the world premiere of this Serbian/Croatian coproduction.

BELGRADE: Saša Radojević's fourth feature film Alexandra / Aleksandra was the only Serbian feature film screened in the FEST Presents... programme of FEST 2019 (22 February – 3 March 2019), the most popular film festival in Serbia. It was the film's world premiere.

BELGRADE: Nikola Petrović will screen his debut feature Dogs Die Alone / Psi umiru sami in the Serbian film programme of FEST 2019 (22 February – 3 March 2019), the most popular film festival in Serbia. It will be the film's world premiere.
